* a main title for a film which "follows a battle-tested afghan general and the steady stream of u.s. national guard soldiers deployed to train the men of his newly formed battalion." to complement the director's vision, i developed this design loosely based on the embriodered name on a soldier's fatigues, giving the title an informal yet still military sensibility. i photographed practical embroidery elements at high resolution as the basis for the animated light pass.
